European railways stand with Spain following tragic train collision

The Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies mourns the loss of life following today’s train collision in Spain.

On behalf of all members, CER Chair Alan Beroud and Executive Director Alberto Mazzola extend CER’s deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of those who have lost their lives, while we wish strength and courage to those who have been injured.

We also recognise the dedication of the emergency services and railway staff from Renfe, Iryo and Adif responding in extremely difficult circumstances.

At this painful time, Europe’s railway community stands in solidarity with everyone affected by the tragedy. Our thoughts and support will remain with them in the difficult days ahead.
