Along the Main, by Alexander Wilkens. Alexandre is a rail traffic planner from Germany. He loves focusing on modern railway photography, especially on the interaction between railways and the landscape. Alexandre waited several hours in the small harbour of Wernfeld to shoot the awarded picture.
Through the golden fields, by Antonio Vivallos-Bijelić. Antonio is a surveying engineer from Croatia who has been doing photography since he was a student. The awarded picture was taken in Slavonia, the agricultural region of Croatia. Antonio found it mesmerising to observe and photograph the trains "sailing" through the golden fields.
Bended parallels, by Csaba Szabó. Csaba has been a photography enthusiast for more than 20 years. From Hungary, he loves taking photos of cityscapes. Csaba took the awarded picture on a winter afternoon while he was experimenting with a 20-year-old 6mp camera.
Winter, by Emilija Korsakaitė. A professional photographer from Lithuania, Emilija wanted to artistically convey the rich tapestry of history, connectivity, and diverse landscapes intrinsic to railways in her awarded picture.
Landwasser viaduct at dusk, by Grégoire Brossard. Grégoire is a railway timetable maker from France. He loves travelling to discover railway systems and cultures around the world. Grégoire's awarded picture features the Landwasser viaduct in Switzerland and was taken with a long exposure time to reveal the train as an extended light ribbon.
Caracău Viaduct at night, by Iustin Alexandru. Iustin is a student from Romania and has been doing photography for about two years. The awarded picture was taken during a trip through the Adjud - Siculeni route, when he came across the Caracău viaduct, one of the most famous railway infrastructure pieces from the entire country.
Mirror, by Kurt Jeppesen. Kurt lives in Denmark and he is president of a railways photo club. He has been doing photography since the age of 14. The awarded picture was taken at the Copenhagen Central Station, where Kurt was fascinated by the light and mirror effect on the train.
Light, by Neshko Dimov. Neshko is from Bulgaria and has loved railways since the age of 4. He enjoys travelling by train and has been practising trainspotting photography for the past few years. The awarded picture was taken in Poland.
Afternoon freight train, by Nikolay Kozarski. Nikolay is a train driver from Bulgaria and has been practising photography for almost 15 years. The awarded picture was taken during a sweltering August afternoon.
Catenary system maintenance works, by Róbert dr. Kovács. Róbert works as a track maintenance diagnostic engineer in Hungary, and since 2010, he has been practising railway photography. Róbert took the awarded picture on a lovely, calm spring evening at Püspökladány station.
Carst edge, by Rok Pirc. Rok has been practising train photography for seven years in Slovenia. The awarded picture was taken at Carst Edge.
Jesenná hmla, by Tomáš Mlynarčík. Tomáš' awarded picture was taken in Spišské Vlachy, a town in eastern Slovakia.
