Health & safety aboard rail passenger services
Our thanks again to the speakers and all who participated.
About the event
The effects of the corona crisis on rail passenger transport are immense, particularly in the organisation of everyday passenger traffic. Railway undertakings have developed preventive measures for the health & safety of the passenger and strategies to resume operations whilst keeping in line with gradual de-confinement and new policies on movement and travel in the Member States.
To support these efforts and understand how railways are emerging from the crisis, CER organised an online workshop on 10 June 2020 to receive practical insights from two distinguished rail experts into their companies’ approaches to tackle the daily challenges of dealing with COVID and to restore trust in rail passenger services. Participants also heard from the European Commission on the recently published “COVID-19: Guidelines on the progressive restoration of transport services and connectivity” and the wider objectives of the Commission’s Tourism and Transport package for the recovery of the sector.
