A Green Mobility and Transport system at the service of Carbon Neutral EU local communities

Jointly organised with ERA, UIC and UITP as an EU side event at COP26, this event will highlight the critical role of rail and public transport in getting on track this decade to achieve the objectives set out at the Paris COP, and the European Green Deal Strategy to make Europe climate neutral by 2050. It will particularly put the light on some of the objectives contained in the EU Smart and Sustainable Mobility Strategy. Europe can become the world's first climate-neutral continent if its mobility offer is built on a backbone of green, public transportation and if a green logistic chain is developed based on a multimodal approach.

The session takes place on the dedicated Sustainable Mobility Day in the EU's programme of COP26 side events, on 12 November from 16:00-17:00 local time in Glasgow (17:00-18:00 Brussels time). MEP Anna Deparnay-Grunenberg, SBB Cargo International's Ulla Kempf and Strathclyde Partnership for Transport's Martin Bartos will take part in the panel discussion, which also features a live Q&A.
