Karima Delli and the rail freight transport sector call on the Commission and Member States to foster modal shift

Following a first videoconference meeting on 5 May 2020, Karima Delli, the chairwoman of the Transport and Tourism Committee of the European Parliament, together with the Executive Director of the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) and the CEOs of the European rail freight transport companies members of the Rail Freight Forward Initiative, have decided to set up a new coalition of rail freight.  

In their joint declaration, signed by CER, they identify four working issues and call on the European Commission and Member States to help foster modal shift to rail.
