Joint Statement on the Weights and Dimensions Directive

Longer and heavier trucks will not result in fewer trucks on the roads. Rather than promoting intermodality in freight transport, these will likely result in a reverse modal shift of rail freight.

CER together with 19 other rail associations have signed a joint statement warning policy and decision-makers about the severe side-effects that the ongoing revision of the Weights and Dimensions Directive could cause in the transport sector.
