Full-time, based in Brussels

The Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER) has a vacancy for the position of Secretary to the Executive Director.

General responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Executive Director and working closely with the communications department, the secretary provides key administrative and logistical support.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the agenda, handle daily correspondence and draft business letters
  • Provide administrative support (Expense reports, Travel arrangements and bookings, travel calendar, etc.)
  • Ensure the preparation of all CER internal and external meetings and events for the Executive Director, both in form and content
  • Research background materials and information, and prepare documents and presentations
  • Organise CER high-level meetings (8x/year)
  • Prepare the press review including media monitoring (2x/week)
  • Support with CER events as needed

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience after obtaining a bachelor degree;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, with a very good knowledge of French. Additional languages are considered a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A high degree of computer literacy
  • Strong personal and excellent organisational skills
  • Positive, professional attitude, solution oriented, and able to remain calm under pressure and keep to tight deadlines
  • Team player, able to build good working relationships with colleagues
  • A flexible and pro-active attitude to work
